8 Months Old!

Eleanor is 8 months old! She's still growing like a weed and is a pretty happy baby. She is still a perfect example of a scientist - exploring the world around her. She has recently gotten quite good at pulling herself up. At a friends house, she would pull herself up along the shelves of toys just to empty the shelves off. She will crawl when she's really angry, but otherwise resorts back to commando crawling or log rolling.

Eating is still fun. She had a small boycott of all orange foods, but today she gladly ate carrots. She's gotten quite good at self feeding - with cooked carrots, bananas, avocado and Cheerios. One of her favorite foods is carrots, peas and spinach all mixed together. It doesn't taste bad, but it's an interesting green color...

She seems to be going back to a three nap routine - with the first nap around 7:30 or 8am. Maybe that's because she's wearing herself out trying to crawl and stand! We've got a pretty good daily routine going, but it does make it difficult to do a lot during the day. It will be even more difficult soon, as I plan to add a third meal (breakfast). As she gets slightly neater eating, it gets easier to bring her out during mealtime.

Here she is at 8 months sitting in the high chair.

The standard Nora next to Teddy photo. This month, she put her hand on teddy, but didn't try and eat him! She was actually more interested in smiling at the camera!

Stretching before the big race?

Yes, all she's wearing is a diaper and a ruffled diaper cover. It was 100 degrees outside, so we stayed inside to try and stay cool. She enjoyed pulling herself up all afternoon!

I had put her down in the middle of the family room, a few minutes later, she was peaking at me from the couch!

After I took the monthly teddy photo, I sat her on the carpet. She stood up and tried to get the teddy...but once again, the smiling at camera won out!
