Fall is always a busy time of year in our house. Between fall festivals, Nora's birthday, our anniversary, yard work and just wanting to play outside we end up with very full weekends. One thing we try to do as a family every year is to pick apples. We are partial to Brookdale for apple picking, but mostly because Andy used to live on the farm and we like their growing practices (low spray/IPM). There are many other local farms that have similar growing practices, and some are beautiful (Autumn Hill Orchard, to name one). I'm hoping to go mid-week to visit a PYO with the girls and some friends, but the weather has not been in our favor recently!
Apples!

Mmmm....apples fresh from the tree.
We had a great day picking. It was a bit warm, and the kids were tired and hungry for more than just apples, so we ended up leaving after picking. Brookdale has a corn maze and a big hay man to climb on that I'm sure we'll be back to visit later this fall.
