The Y

We decided to join the YMCA shortly before the Nashua Y opened a new facility very close to our home. So far it has been pretty good. The childcare room is always a bit more crowded than my kids can handle, but we love using the pool and Nora has started a tumbling class that she absolutely loves!
Nora warming up in her class.
The teacher sets up an obstacle course each week. There is always a soft balance beam and one or two things where he spots the kids. Plus, plenty of jumping, hopping on one foot and stepping carefully over bean bags!
Beth, showing off some of her gymnastics skills. She swings on the bar under the stairs all the time.
Nora during her swim lesson. The smile never leaves! She's just about able to swim, but doesn't quite have the confidence yet. Each week during her class, I bring Beth into the family swim area of the pool. Much like her sister, she loves the water (and much like her sister, was afraid of it at first). Beth went from not letting go of mommy at the beginning of the summer to just recently swimming independently (with a swim belt on).
